"This is a new image of the great spiral galaxy called Messier 81. It is in the constellation Ursa Major (The Great Bear), part of which is the Big Dipper. NASA says this is the most detailed picture ever of M81 — so sharp, one can pick out individual stars, even though they're in a galaxy 11.6 million light years from our own." (NASA/ESA/STScI)
