"Hope"

 

"Life is pain. A billion little cuts every second, a billion points of anguish. Terror strikes every day, from the little moments of fear when a child cries in pain, to the numbing shock of acts of violence on a horrifying scale. From above, the world seems to be a tableau of death. War, famine, disease, oppression; there seems no end to the horrors we visit upon each other. And yet, we live. In that very moment we awake, pain and anguish are striking thousands of people across the planet, and even if we aren't thinking about it, we know it. Even so, we still wake up, we still rise and face the day and live our lives. Why? Hope. We know, that for all the darkness there is a light. The power of that light is infinitely expansive; it dwells within us in moments of love and joy and fun."
